This piece, entitled “Volumes for Sound” is more than it might appear in these pictures. It’s a combination of not only sculpture, but also photography, sounds and live performance.
The structures can be configured in numerous ways, as they are modular. They also have built in sound devices, which is meant to “elicit an architecture of sound” according to its creators Melissa Dubbin and Aaron S. Davidson. These configurations can then be photographed, which completes the artistic triumvirate.
It was created in 2010 and has exhibited in numerous cities, beginning with Reykjavik, and most recently in New York.
