Peter Erskine is an American artist and sculptor born on 17 June 1941 in New Haven, Connecticut. Erskine first studied political science at Yale University, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1966. He furthered his education at the University of Pennsylvania, where he studied Sculpture and graduated with a BFA in 1966.
The following year, Erskine earned his Master’s in Sculpture from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1980, Peter moved to California, where he first witnessed the creation of art using light as a medium. Shortly after, he adopted the method, combining his political knowledge with art to address environmental issues.
In 1989, Erskine created the Secrets of the Sun – a Solar Spectrum Environmental art medium. Erskine’s art is globally recognized and appraised. Erskine and his art have appeared in over 150 articles, six global broadcasts, and seven magazine cover stories. Peter’s art is widespread in homes, public centers, and galleries worldwide.
Since 1966, Erskine has exhibited his work in more than twenty group and solo exhibitions in Germany, Italy, and the United States. He has also won several awards and grants in appreciation of the uniqueness and beauty of his work. Erskine is active and has lived in Oregon since 2007.
