Voice Array by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer

Voice Array by Rafael Lozano-Hemmer_
As a participant speaks into an intercom, their voice is automatically translated into flashes of light and then this unique blinking pattern is stored as a loop in the first light of the array. Each new recording pushes all previous recordings one position down and gradually one can hear the cumulative sound of the 288 previous recordings. The voice that was pushed out of the array can then be heard by itself. See more;

Inward Conch ~ Upward Spiral by Brenna Murphy

I'm mesmerized after playing with the new work by Brenna Murphy featured in the ongoing exhibition at KlausGallery. Inward Conch ~ Upward Spiral is an interactive game consisting in a tridimensional world, an architectural environment fully texturized with psychedelic static and moving textures by Brenna Murphy. (the architectural elements of the 3D environment are not only constructed by Murphy). It is a looped game with four different stages, when you pass the last one, you fall into the first one again. In the following pictures you can have a look to the aesthetics of the different room/spaces, but I highly recommend to play it and see how the textures move, my favorite one is the last space which presents a crazy liquify animated texture, it reminds me of a mix ofwater and mercury, must to see!. Each room has a different sound on the background also created by Murphy. It is not an online based game but downloadable for Mac and Pc, the user play with the keyboard and moves the camera with the mouse. See more;

IHSE by Esther Hunziker

"IHSE by Esther Hunziker is a series of autonomous architectural buildings. Each photo shows a geometric figure, which overrides the forms of classical architecture. There is no roof nor a base, no top or bottom. The buildings float in the void. Architecture which looks like concrete capsules through which one can move into a different space-time continuum. The interactive online version of the photo series IHSE, responds to the mouse movements of the user. You hear a spherical, meditative sound in the background. Architectural buildings float slowly in empty space and endlessly multiply themselves out of themselves. They grow to a certain size until they divide into two. By moving the mouse the user can intervene in this process, slow down or accelerate the growth and turnaround the direction of the IHSE travel." See more;

Andrey Yazev

Yes, Andrey Yazev, the same. I guess many of you already know a big part of his portfolio at his well known site the389.com.  The other day I was checking his site to see if he had updated it with some new piece, he didn't. So then I came back to the blog to see which was his last work on here, there were none from him, only when Triangulation Blog presented the launch of Fach & Asendorf Gallery he was featuring a great piece with scrollbars, (this one) and also he designed the (website) gallery, see here. So I was quite surprise about, I spent so much time toying with his javascript experiments, and I hadn't published any yet! I could solve it easy and quickly :) See more;

Interactive Fluid Dynamics Rendered In ASCII

I really enjoyed to toy with Nick Kwiatek's interactive home page. What a flow of ASCII characters! The organic forms and shadows are pretty cool. You can select two different aesthetics, I like the hacker mode one because there is more contrast. So pass the pointer over the page and feel the flow, press the left mouse button for a burst of movement. As they are characters I was trying to see them smaller by cmd - , it looks different and nice too, a little bit slower. See more:

Nervous Structure (field)

Nervous Structure (field) (2012) is the latest interactive projected structure created by Annica Cuppetelli and Cristobal Mendoza. While ago I published one of their first series, but from the same family, Nervous structures, see here.
This one, consists in a structure composed of 144 vertical lines made of elastic is illuminated by a video projector. The viewer motion is transformed into forces affecting the projection. The great moire effect is created because of the own projection the structure and the shadows created on the background. See more;

XYZT, Les paysages abstraits

X (horizontal), Y (vertical), Z (depth), T (time). Four letters to describe the motion of a point in the space, and think about an imaginary environment. Mathematical paradoxes, mesmerizing typographies and moving landscapes, all this at this exhibition called "XYZT, Les paysages abstraits" (XYZT The abstract landscapes). Surveying of the digital space, finger algorithms, fields of light... a lot of imaginary territories to explore. A coincidence between geometric and organic, between real and virtual. This is an awesome installation and interactive project created by Adrien M / Claire B and Martin Gautron. See more;

Videorative portrait of Randall Okita

Sergio Albiac has been working the latest six months on this project called "Videorative portrait of Randall Okita", as he told me, this is one of the most complex works he has developed so far. A work that makes you think about a new way to understand what is a realistic portrait, using meanings and emotions instead of  brushes.

Sergio tells us more about this realistic, emotional and interactive painting way he has created;
"With this new work, I try to create a new type of portrait, one that goes beyond physical appearances, more "realistic" as it renders the founding blocks of the intimate world: memories, relationships and emotions. It is also a metaphor of the art of traditional painting, but expressed in contemporary media: generative video and interactive installation. It is an evolutive type of portrait that can be fed with more video memories by the person portrayed, increasing "likeness" as time goes by.  Also, it is a "data visualization" of the emotional life: the installation version of the work uses online access to Wikipedia to infer emotions tied to memories and displays new and "subconscious" interpretations of the person portrayed. It is "meaning visualization"". See more;

PRISMA 1666

PRISMA 1666 is a collaboration project between Wonwei and Shanghai-based design studio Super Nature Design. It was first exhibited at the 2011 International Science and Art Exhibition in Shanghai where it received the Best Creative Design Award.

"In 1666, Sir Isaac Newton conducted a famous experiment that has been widely considered as a landmark discovery in the study of optics and color theory. Inspired by this discovery, PRISMA1666 is an interactive light installation consisting of 15 triangular crystal blocks distributed randomly on a clean white surface. The projection of colorful graphics is refracted and dispersed by these crystal blocks, creating a fascinating visual experience and ambiance. The installation enables interaction with the projected colors, angles, and shapes through a touch interface, creating an opportunity to experiment with these elements like Isaac Newton did so many years before us" See more;

Form Art by Alexi Shulgin

“In 1997, he released his first interactive work, Form Art, in which only minimum factors are programmed in the form of HTML. Shulgin describes this page as a “formalistic” aesthetical art site”. Navigating this site requires aimless click-throughs of blank boxes and links, which lead the viewer through countless pages of “form art” animations made up of Shulgin’s boxes. Some of the more interesting discoveries on the page include a “Gomputer Game”, which allows the viewer to make arbitrary decisions upon which link to cick- sometimes leading to the next round, other times often merely ending up at the “you lose” page. From the homepage of Shulgin’s Form site however, one can navigate to a list of the artist’s resume and their respective links. The webpage could very well be several years old if the latest postings accurately read “1997”, making this an interesting look into the early internet tools via HTML. This was aimed at the influence of a networking process on the Internet.” - Wikipedia. See more;

Void Gaze by Jeremiah Johnson

VOID GAZE is an interactive text experience with an accompanying series of computer drawings by Jeremiah Johnson. In the style of early text adventure games, the player uses words to interact with the gameworld by entering them at a command prompt.
Themes related to vision and sight run throughout the work, including references to 19th century physicist Joseph Plateau, who went blind as a result of staring into the sun. As the player makes their way through six different locations (A,Γ,Δ,Θ,Σ,Ω), several new computer drawings are revealed, rewarding certain actions or solutions to puzzles. See more;

Tele-Present Water by David Bowen

Tele-Present Water is one of many experimental projects by David Bowen. This work or  installation draws information from the intensity and movement of the water in a remote location. Wave data is being collected in real-time from National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data buoy station 46246 (49°59'7" N 145°5'20" W) on the Pacific Ocean. The wave intensity and frequency is scaled and transferred to the mechanical grid structure resulting in a simulation of the physical effects caused by the movement of water from this distant location, recreating the physical movement of the surface of water at The National Museum. NSKYC.COM by Mike Bodge

N SKY C .COM is the latest net art project by Mike BodgeN SKY C is a beautiful and minimal website which shows the average color of New York City sky every 5 minutes.

"I wrote a program that takes a picture outside of my office window every 5 minutes. It uploads the photo to a server and then analyzes the sky portion to figure out what the average sky color is at that time. The site is a constantly updating mosaic and record of the sky over New York City, and I think it looks pretty awesome." - Mike Bodge. See more;

V&A Ornaments by Karsten Schmidt

V&A Ornaments Installation, is the latest great project by Karsten Schmidt. The exhibition took place at Victoria & Albert Museum consisting in an interactive installation as part of their activities around the Cult Of Beauty Aestheticism exhibition. Like Karsten says, he keeps the William Morris as a loose source of inspiration, as well as addressing the museum's upcoming Power Of Making collaboration with the Crafts Council, Schmidt proposed to create a modern, stripped down interpretation of his pattern work mixed with classic islamic/indian geometric influences and then realised this project using different digital fabrication techniques.
