Impresionante esta serie de pinturas macabras creadas por Buddy Nestor. Interesante también como empezó en el mundo de la pintura;
"Nací y crecí en Collingswood, Nueva Jersey, un suburbio de Filadelfia, Pennsylvania. Como hijo único "Latch Key Kid", me pasé horas y horas delante de la televisión, viendo películas y dibujando. Me apasionaba el culto extraño y las películas de terror. El skateboarding en mi adolescencia me llevó al punk, indie, y a la música metal. En 1997, después del nacimiento de mi hijo decidí enseñarme a pintar. En 1999, viajé por todo el mundo en un portaaviones, y pintaba todos los días. Aislado en el barco la pintura me mostró el efecto relajante del procedimiento creativo que había en mi mente y cuerpo. Regresé a la escuela y se licenció en Bellas Artes.
La serie que estoy trabajando actualmente se llama, “Every Girl Goes to Hell”. Todos los modelos que uso para estos retratos son muy hermosos. Sin embargo, cuando los pinto, quedan muy feos." - Buddy Nestor

As an only child “Latch Key Kid”, I spent endless hours in front of the television, watching movies and drawing. I gravitated toward strange cult and horror films. Skateboarding in my teens exposed me to Punk, Indie, and Metal music. In 1997, after the birth of my son, I decided to teach myself to paint. In 1999, I traveled around the world on an aircraft carrier, and painted everyday. Painting in isolation on the boat, showed me the calming effect that the creative process had on my mind and body. I returned to school and received a B.A in Fine Arts.
